Meet the dedicated board of directors at SAFE, a team of passionate individuals committed to empowering survivors and fostering meaningful change. Their diverse expertise and shared vision guide SAFE’s mission to support and advocate for those affected by gender-based violence.

Eligibility Requirements are described below.

A member of the SAFE Board will acknowledge your email and advise you of next steps.
SAFE Board of Director Eligibility Requirements are as follows:
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Shall not be an undischarged bankrupt;
- Shall not have been found by a court to be incapable of managing their affairs;
- Shall not have been convicted of an offence in connection with the promotion, formation, or management of a corporation or unincorporated entity, or of an offence involving fraud, dishonesty, or moral turpitude.
- Shall not have been accused of any form of gender-based violence, nor convicted of an offence relating to gender-based violence.
- Agree to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check. Considering the vulnerable population served by SAFE, all prospective Directors shall undergo a police check as part of the nomination process. The police check must be conducted and submitted to the Board of Directors within 30 days from the date of nomination. Any individual with a criminal record related to offences against vulnerable populations may be deemed ineligible.
Priority screening will be given to individuals who have experience in any of the following disciplines: Fundraising, Events, Community Service, Non-Profit.
